«Sounds of Matter» is a cooperation between the Faculty of Physics of the University of Vienna and the University of Music and Performing Arts. The composition competition is realised under the guidance of University Prof. Mag. Johannes Kretz, Chairman of the Institute for Composition, Electroacoustics and Tonmeister Education. >>>

The “C12” is an Algorithmic Composition based on the simple hexagonal crystal structure for graphite geometry. As we know that carbon-12’s mass number is twelve by definition and contains six protons, six neutrons and six electrons so was a focus on the symmetry, asymmetry and equalisation encouraged me to realise this sonic project. I did not limit myself to the real structures and the functions of protons, neutrons and electrons but tried to be connected with the main issue and develop the idea creatively. >>>

For this project, I used Iannix a graphical open-source sequencer for digital art to generate my 2D patterns and interacting with Max programme to generate the sonic materials.

Audioblast Festival

Networked audio, digital sound creation festival using the network as a place of diffusion, experimental, drone, noise, field recordings, sound poetry, electronic, contemporary music. The sound and music networking practice is becoming more important, the public is very interested in this kind of new practice and Apo33 continues to develop this unique festival worldwide! There is no equivalent. It is a festival associated with new forms of music and sound, which allows to cross the concert, the performance and a form of exhibition where the public can sit, listen to the concerts, wander and interact with the artists online during their “live”; offering the possibility of “chatting” live with the musicians. The barrier of the show bursts: the public is no longer in its place and the artist on stage: a cross between the two.

JangeJafange” is combined word in Persian language which mean “Futile-war” [/jang/ = war] [/jafang/= Futile].

Every day we start our life with our pre-defined and pre-circumcized social media world! I just made a scroll on my Facebook page and record my news feed one by one in June 2017 and tried to use them as a sound material to create a sound collage.

Sound collage (“glueing together”) is a technique where you put together your sonic elements (could be any kind) to create or define a composition or you can call it also montage.

Is the social media giving us a certain direction to think about the certain things or we are shaping our social media with our thoughts?

Elerelé is a Sonic art Installation realised by electromagnetic relays which are interacting with MaxMsp programme. The main Idea of creating this project was to verify the repetitive and non-repetitive patterns, how we perceive these patterns as a general sonic texture and finally to verify our recognitions to understand how we identify the receptive and non-repetitive sonic textures? How precise could be our identification?

For building the hardware part (instrument) I used an Arduino as my microprocessor and electromagnetic relays to generate the sonic part. The programming part created to interact with the Arduino to generated the clicks and specific frequencies in RealTime.

The work is an ambient representation of the stunning and diverse Nordic landscapes. Thomsen collected the different sounds, via an open call for sample sounds taken from Nordic countries and arranged them to create this composition. Many of the submissions had links with water in different forms: ice (arctic), running brooks and rivers, boiling (Icelandic geysers), air, vapour, rain, and the sea, which connects all Nordic countries. The piece references current issues such as global warming and is a reflection on the fragile ecology of the coastal regions.
